Following Ryan Babel's super composed goal, there have been a lot of comparison between Babel and John Barnes, our legend.
Babel is 20 and Barnes was 24 when he joined Liverpool. If this article is to be believed, Babel is destinated for great things. Babel has not shown any dribbling skills like Barnes so far. Besides the goal, he has not shown the same composure consistently. Maybe it will come with maturity?
Well at least he seems to be quite comfortable dealing with the physical demands on the English League. We'll just wait and see if Ryan can be anything as good as this:

More than 25 points....
from the first 10 games, then we'll talk about the REAL possibility of winning the title.
We are doing the correct things at the moment. The title isn't won in September, but it certainly can be lost by September.
At least this season, unlike previous, we are giving ourselves a chance. A chance to be part of the race. By the 10th game, the 1/4 mark to the finishing line, we'll see a better definition of how the season will end. Should we lead by a good margin, we have a real chance to bring no.19 home. If we are on par with other contenders, we might outlast them through winter and make a surge towards the end with our much improved depth this season. And if we trail by a heartbreaking margin again, we'll know we have much to do.
This is the first time we lead the table since 2002. Signs are encouraging but it's still early days. We're all waiting for the first milestone, the 10th league game. Should we have more than 25 points, it will certainly make me sit up and start feeling all excited.
Nevertheless this is the summary after 5 games
-We are top of the pack with the best goal difference.
-Arsenal is on level but they have yet to win an away game, but we bagged 2.
-Everton played a game more
-Chelsea played a game more, owe us 2 points and deserve 2 less.
-We have yet concede a goal from open play.
-Man Unit is shit

Villa sinks Chelsea

Villa 2 - 0 Chelsea.
Well done Villa. Chelsea stinks and you did the world good by flushing them to where they belong - the sewers. With that you deserve the Badge of Merit from me.
Don't expect any favours at Anfield later in the season though, and surrender your points then!
Collect more Badge of Merits and stay cool!

Badge of Merit

The Badge of Merit will be bestowed on teams, personnel, items or whatsoever organism or Acts of God/s in aid of Liverpool FC to bring back no.19.
This policy shall commence from 3 Sept 07 onwards. Aston Villa has the distinction of getting my first Badge of Merit.

Result: Liverpool 6 - 0 Derby County
Shit happens.
We would be top of the table regardless of what happens later or the next day if not for the Robbing Incident
Well, life isn't perfect but it doesn't stop me from bringing this up until we win the league.
I feel for the Derby fans as 6-0 is not a nice result to bring home, even though they are facing an on form Liverpool now and I salute them for surrendering their 3 points in support of Liverpool's Quest to bring no.19 back this season.
Thank you Derby, I love you. Don't feel sad and just let it all out against Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal.
Most Singapore Reds are ranting about the scoreline, how well we played, no Carra and Gerrard and no One(two)-Man Team, what studs Pennant, Mascherano and Torres are. I saw a different game.
It's only Derby, a team lying at the bottom of the table with only 1 point. We're not the first team that gave them a lesson too. What makes us special? We did what we are supposed to do. So save the (embarrassing) gushing until we start winning against the top teams..

Nix's comments: Finally Mancs got something a little bit harder. We could have gotten a slightly easier group and a much harder one as well. So I'll take this group without complains. Arsenal will face a couple of headaches if they get Sevilla. I hope Chelsea have fun with Valencia :D

Liverpool 4 - 0 Toulouse
So we won big at Anfield, and I am 2 days late for my comments. I am finally back at Perth - where I hardly got a sniff to any PCs/Laptop with internet access. heh heh
Everton's 'Z-Cars' theme tune rang out before Anfield.
I'll be honest here, I've never heard Everton's theme before so I listened with interest. It doesn't sound bad actually, but it's rather short.
That's not the point here anyway. That was a tribute for Rhys Jones, the little one who was mercilessly murdered. A day where humanity wins.

Sunderland got Momo-ed
We won 2-0 nil. All thanks to goals from Sissoko and Voronin.
Too bad Sunderland. Bad timing. Our 7000th goal has to belong to Momo Sissoko, nothing less. He is now Liverpool's joint top-scorer in the EPL. Well done.
It was always believed that when Momo finally scores, it will be a cracker. Never a doubt. And so it was!
Look at some reactions to his goal,"His first goal was never gonna be a tap-in!" - Ben_JP
"Half man, half machine, all Momo." - ThingOnASpring
"Momo scored?! Now I've seen it all" - FinnishFan
See, Sunderland? We were stunned too,"I must've waited at least 10 seconds to make sure it wasnt side netting and that it was sissoko to score. It still hasnt sunk in." - kkhaku

Next Game: Sunderland (away)
Sunderland.
I really hate Sunderland. Maybe it's just me, perhaps it was a hate build up from constant disappointment during the Roy Evans days. I remember we dropped points regularly at Sunderland. That is why I hate them.
Why did they get promoted? They should have stayed in the lower division for good. Oh, so Roy Keane is the key driving force behind their promotion? Gosh, I hate them even more now.
This game is a BIG game for me. It will be very sweet for me if we beat them, and extremely bitter if we don't. This is also a game to show if we are Championship materials this season. A game to judge. Nothing less.
Surrender your points, Roy Keane and boys!
